Google SWOT Analysis

Google Inc. is a tech company that operates globally offering services such as search, advertising, enterprise, operating systems, as well as other hardware products. Google is one of the most successful companies in the world today. Below, we will be looking at Google's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.

Strengths
In the search engine market, Google can be said to have the significant share of the market. Google is constantly upgrading their search engine technology. They are leaving their competition in the dust. Another strength of Google's is that Google acquired Android which broke them into the mobile operating system. There has been a massive increase in the use of cell phones which has provided an excellent platform for Android. With pretty much all cell phones besides Apple's iPhone uses an Android operating system, they have a big part of the mobile market.

Weaknesses
One weakness that Google has is that most of the revenue generated by Google comes from advertisements. Anything affecting the economy can have a negative impact on the demand for advertising which in turn affects the revenue generated by Google. Another weakness of Google's is that its social media network hasn't been very successful. Google+ hasn't been a huge success. They just don't have the firepower that sites like Twitter and Facebook have.

Opportunities
The main opportunity that Google has is that there is a positive outlook for the smartphone and tablet market. People are switching over from Apple products and Google has the opportunity to get them to use Google products. I have seen many people switch from the iPhone to the new Google Pixel phone. With the new Google Pixel coming out soon, this is Google's chance to get people to which over to their flagship phone.

Threats
The main threat to Google is the other companies trying to get the people that switched from Apple products to buy one's company's products. Also, there is competition from every aspect of their business from the search engine to the social networks, as well as other advertising networks using television, radio and others.

  2. I actually have the original Google Pixel XL. I love the phone, but I think they're making some weird decisions for the new one. The one I really don't like is how they are getting rid of the headphone jack, like Apple did. I use headphones all the time and I really don't want to have to get a new pair of wireless ones, because phones are phasing out the jack. It just seems like a really weird design choice to me.
