Which is the best team ever, the Celtics or the Lakers?
Anyone who knows the NBA knows that the Lakers and the Celtics have been the most successful franchises. Just 10 years ago the Celtics were way better than any other team. They were considered by far the greatest club ever to grace the NBA and had won 16 championships, way more than any other club. In the last 10 years, however, the Celtics have only won one championship while the Lakers have won 5. Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant rose to stardom for the Lakers during that time, and their profile as a great NBA team increased. Let's look at the facts, and let’s see which team is the greatest:

As of right now, the Celtics have a better team than the Lakers. But a while ago back in 87' and 88', there was competition as to who was a better team. Considering that the Lakers had more wins by two more championships in the 80s, the Celtics had Larry Bird, who was a 2x MVP winner, and Cedric Maxwell who were amazing players. It's challenging to determine which one is the best team ever. According to statistics, Kobe and Magic Johnson put up more points and won more championships. Although I would say the Lakers are close to being the "best team" ever, Larry Bird set a huge legacy showing out in his prime years.
