The New NBA2K is Out
It's that time of the year again when all the new sports video games are released to the public. All the new sports video games have updated graphics and new features that make them even more fun. My favorite one, that I preorder every year is NBA 2K. It's the best basketball video game franchise and every year it gets better. One of the biggest changes to this years edition of the game is the "Run the neighborhood" addition to the MyCareer mode. The new way to play combines the best of MyPARK, Pro-Am and the popular MyCareer experience to create a shared world where players can immerse themselves into the game to socialize, explore and compete. MyPlayers live in a neighborhood environment with other real players and in-game characters, who compete and get fresh on their way to upping their rating to 99. Foot Locker is also incorporated within the game mode in order to keep your MyPlayer laced with kicks from today and classic footwear of the past. The cover athlete this year is Kyrie Irving and Shaquille O'Neal for the legends edition. The 2K guys had to change the cover within weeks of the release because Irving was traded to the Celtics and he was on the cover in a Cavaliers jersey because he requested a trade during the offseason. I doubt that there will ever be a perfect sports video game (2K has historically struggled to accurately render Dirk Nowitzki's hair) but by nailing what can go wrong, 2K18 is about as right as it gets. The only competition NBA 2K has is EA NBA Live franchise. Historically NBA Live hasn't been giving NBA 2K any problems. It just lives in the shadow of NBA 2K franchise. So in conclusion, it's going to be an amazing time playing the newest NBA 2K and it looks amazing.
I love video games but I have just never gotten into sports games. I find its super difficult to get average at the games. Maybe I will pick this one up and give it a try.
ReplyDeleteI haven't picked up an NBA 2K game since 2K14, but I've been thinking about getting the new one. A couple of my friends love playing the game and it's honestly getting me hyped for the new one and I've been meaning to update my sports games a bit (also looking at getting a new Madden game). So this may be the first one I've picked up in a while.
